Escape the cold of winter during Longwood Gardens' Orchid Extravaganza. Explore a magical world of orchids where thousands of colorful blooms drape from walls, flow from baskets, and form captivating archways in artful displays.

Six premium wineries & vineyards in Southern Chester County, PA
Barrels on the Brandywine feature tastings of the new developing vintage in barrels, buckets, bottles and more! This Passport Event gives you a chance to venture into our cellars, see the new wines firsthand, and participate in pruning demonstrations, seminars, classes and more.
Passports ($25 adults) are required for this event. Passports allow for tastings at each member winery and a commemorative wine glass. Valid each weekend in March. Passports will be available online. www.bvwinetrail.com

The racing and family oriented festivities take place on the rolling countryside of the Brandywine Valley Association's 318-acre Myrick Conservation Center on Route 842 approximately six miles west of West Chester and three miles east of Unionville.

A highlight of the local social calendar, Point-to-Point is an old-fashioned country race featuring horse racing, antique carriages and elegant tailgate picnicking. Adult-$30.00,12-20-$15.00, Under 12-Free. Tickets go on sale online in early March. Don't wait too long.

If it's spring in the Valley that means the Wilmington Flower Market. A three-day annual ritual that benefits charity. Featured are plant and flower sales, distinctive boutiques and a midway featuring rides and games for the entire family.
(3rd Saturday in May)
Early American history comes to life in Old New Castle the third Saturday in May. 10am - 5pm. Private home and garden tours, colonial fife and drum corps. Buy tickets online.

Outstanding antiques from across the nation are featured at the Brandywine River Museum Antiques Show. This event, hosted by the Museum Volunteers, presents a variety of American and English furniture, glass, metalware, ceramics, folk art, quilts, Oriental and European porcelain, rugs and other fine collectibles. Proceeds support the Museum Volunteers' Art Purchase Fund. $15 Admission fee includes museum admission.
(Mid June)
Experience the greatest in jazz music by the premiere performers - all here to celebrate the legendary talent of Clifford Brown, the Wilmington native who left an incredible mark on musical history - performing with a virtuosity that has never been paralleled. All events are FREE, open to the public and rain or shine. Click for information.

Delaware Shakespeare Festival presents Shakespeare under the stars in Rockwood Mansion Park. Arrive an hour prior to the performance to dine and enjoy pre-show activities. Tickets can be purchased at the door for general admission or online.

A Tribute to Bob Marley. Appearing on The Festival's stages Bushman, Kinto Sol, Anthem Reggae Band and The Image Band. See site for ticket information.

A two-day, weekend event in historic Kennett Square, right in the heart of mushroom country. The Festival celebrates the mushroom as well and offers a lot of entertainment, food and fun. Click the icon for a listing of the events over the weekend.

An annual arts festival in Wilmington, Delaware. Featuring hundreds of juried artists exhibiting one-of-a-kind art, the festival is a Delaware tradition spanning 51 years.Now regionally popular and nationally recognized, the Brandywine Festival of the Arts boasts participants from across the United States and perennially ranks in the top 100 shows in the country. Up to 20,000 visitors flock to Brandywine Park's Josephine Gardens for this end-of-summer celebration. Admission $5, Children under 12 free.

Watch local artists carve huge pumpkins (5-9PM). See candle-lit carved pumpkins Fri.-Sat (5-9PM). All Three nights of family fun, food, live music and hayrides! General Admission: $5 adults 18 & older, $3 for attendees 7-17, free for children 6 and under. Parking in the meadow just past the Chadds Ford Historical Society barn. The Carve is on the Historical Society grounds.
(November in the Riverfront Center, Wilmington DE)
One of the nation's most highly acclaimed and anticipated antiques shows with a spectacular showcase of art, antiques, and design. Featuring the finest offerings from more than 60 of the country's most distinguished dealers, the Delaware Antiques Show highlights American antiques and decorative arts, including furniture, paintings, rugs, ceramics, silver, jewelry, and more. Proceeds benefit Winterthur's education programs. Carolyne Roehm, one of America's most important tastemakers, known for her extraordinary contributions to interior design, fashion, and entertaining, will be the keynote speaker this year. Admission $12; members, $9.
